Dance Floor
You know, I debated for some time
whether or not I should post this. I feared how someone might read too much
into it, or misinterpret the sentiment behind it… And then, in my typical
fashion, I decided to say f*ck it and post it anyway. I am much better at
expressing myself through words, in case you haven't noticed… why stop now?
I do hope the subject of the song finds
this, reads it, and takes it for what it is: My simple, heartfelt thank you for
sharing a smile and helping me make the most of a tough situation. This was the
best way I could think to express my appreciation.
Dance Floor
I
was sittin' in my chair
All
the way back there
Watchin'
all the dancin'
And
even some romancin'
Was
about to go
When
her sparkling eyes caught mine
And
right then and there
I
couldn't even blame the wine
Instead
of leavin' like I planned
I
let lead her lead me by the hand
And
we danced the night away
Without
a care in the world
Watchin'
her grin
Holding
tight to that girl
Just when I couldn’t
take it anymore
I met that pretty
girl out there on the dance floor
Now
I ain't got a lot of moves
And
don't exactly have a groove
But
there was somethin' 'bout those eyes
That
made me feel alive
Spun
her like a ballerina
Pulled
her close in back to me
We
giggled and we smiled
We
must have been a sight to see
Yeah,
was gonna go back all alone
Man,
if you'd asked me if I'd known
I'd
dance the night away
Without
a care in the world
Watchin
her grin
Holding
tight to that girl
Just when I couldn’t
take it anymore
I met that pretty
girl out there on the dance floor
Now
I may never see her again
But
man, it was worth it my friend
Even
if for only one night
She
had me feelin' alright
Dancing
the night away…
Just when I couldn’t
take it anymore
I met that pretty
girl out there on the dance floor
Yeah
Just when I couldn’t
take it anymore
I met that pretty
girl out there on the dance floor
